ABOUT
What started as a little girl playing with ingredients in her parents’ kitchen, has evolved into a nationally sought-after and recognized top chef. First finishing her training in 2002 at the Culinary Institute of America in New York, Chef Nettie Frank is armed with the skills of a professional chef, the palette of an experienced foodie, and over 20 years of expert skill in the culinary industry.
When returning to her home state of Utah after culinary school, Chef Nettie worked alongside culinary artists at the prestigious Log Haven, the premiere Grand America Hotel, and the renowned Snowbasin Ski Resort. In 2006, Chef Nettie stepped out on her own to start Silver Whisk Catering, and in 2008, she added Beyond Glaze Bakery to her culinary resume; winning a Best in Utah Doughnuts award for her gourmet treats that boasted a “No Sprinkles Allowed” philosophy. Since then, Chef Nettie has published Beyond Glaze, her very own cookbook, outlining exactly how to recreate her signature gourmet doughnuts.
On top of her catering and storefront expertise, Chef Nettie has appeared on camera numerous times on shows such as Food Network’s Chopped and Cake Wars, earning the respect of top chefs and the adoration of a national audience. She’s been an invited guest chef at Disney’s Food and Wine Festivals in both California and Florida, provided red carpet fare to celebrities at Project Angel Food in Los Angeles, and has served the cast of Will and Grace at CBS Studios.
Her on-camera experience doesn’t stop there, Chef Nettie is a well-known food stylist working with companies such as Frigo Cheese and Santa Monica Seafood; and is a frequent guest on local television shows, including Good Things Utah, Studio 5, and BYU’s Dinner Takes All. When she’s not on camera, you will likely find Chef Nettie speaking at conferences, sharing her skills nationwide.
Nettie’s favorite moments are spent where it all started – back in her own kitchen, teaching budding chefs on her YouTube channel; and spending as much time as possible with her two children and four dogs.
